Hot Weekend – Cool Events

Summer is here and the possibilities for having fun are endless. Here are just a few of the cool activities you can do in Fulton and Callaway County this weekend.

“Hit the Bricks” at the 14th annual Fulton Street Fair. Activities start 4 pm, Friday, June 16 and include carnival, beer garden, live mule auction, bands, craft and food vendors, hot air balloon glow and more. Saturday starts at 8 am with a 5K Run/Walk, farmers market, vendors, “touch a truck,” car show, music, carnival parade and closing fireworks at 10 pm.

While you are in the Brick District, check out some of the special offerings by our downtown merchants. The Art House‘s Fun Art Friday class focuses on handmade prints. Merchants including 1canoe2 Paperie and Smockingbird’s are running sales. 1canoe2 is also offering a cool Globe Workshop

If you are looking to beat the heat, sit in the shade and sip a cool glass of vino at Serenity Valley Winery or Canterbury Hill Winery and Restaurant. Friday is Canterbury Hill’s first dueling piano event of the summer. On Saturday night, the music is hot, the dancing is lively and AC and beer both run cold at 54 Country

Kids of all ages can cool off at Parks and Rec facilities including the slash pad at Memorial Park and Oestreich Swimming Pool

Of course, a cold treat is always appreciated on a summer day. Find your frozen bliss at Sault’s Drug Soda Fountain, Lulu’s Frozen Yogurt or  Hibernia Station Coffee & Tea in Holts Summit.
