Fall Is Non-Stop Fun In Fulton & Callaway County

October is most often the most beautiful month of the year in Missouri. It’s certainly one of the best times to enjoy an abundance of fall fun throughout Callaway County!

Through Nov. 5: Crowds of visitors make a trip to Shryock’s Callaway Farms an annual family outing – exploring the Corn Maze, Fun Barn, Jumping Pillow, barnyard activities, and the indoor gumball machine. Open Friday and Saturdays, noon-9 p.m. and Sundays, noon-6 p.m.

Oct. 7, 8 a.m-4 p.m.: The 51st Hatton Craft Day features 180 booths that are located throughout town showcasing handmade items.

Oct. 7, noon-7 p.m.: Head over to Calwood Community Center in Fulton for the last Callaway Mutton Trail event of the year, the Calwood Mutton BBQ. Pro Tip: Arrive early – they often sell out before 7:00.

Oct. 21-22, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.: Wander back to 1550 to the sleepy Irish village of Carlingford at Central Missouri Renaissance Festival in Kingdom City. The faire features seven stages, more than 50 artisans, dozens of characters, multiple living encampments, and so much more.

  • Oct. 5, 4 p.m.-8 p.m., Shop & Stroll​: Shop while enjoying complimentary refreshments at Brick District shops.

  • Oct. 6, 5 p.m.-9 p.m., First Friday at the Woods: Enjoy live music, food, drinks, yard games, and vendors at William Woods University. Bring a chair or blanket. Admission is free.

  • Oct. 31, Halloween in the Brick District includes Boo The Block pumpkin contest and Trick or Treating from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. Kids will start on the Court House lawn on 5th Street and wind their way up to 6th & Court St. Enter your best carved or painted pumpkin between 2 - 3:30 p.m. at 534 Court St for a chance to win prizes in several categories.

  • Oct. 31, 6 p.m.-8 p.m., Not-So-Haunted Yard: Meet us at the historic Fulton Depot , located in the Brick District’s back yard, for a family-friendly evening with stories & s’mores .

Callaway County’s music scene is plentiful, as well!

  • Oct 6 & 13, 7 p.m.-10 p.m.: Friday Night Music at The Station in Fulton

  • Oct 7, 14, 21 & 28 starting at 6 p.m. (check start time as fall progresses): Music at ElderBlossom View in New Bloomfield

  • Oct 7, 14 & 21, 4 p.m.-7 p.m.: Saturday Evening Music Series at Serenity Valley Winery in Fulton

Between events, explore a world of tasty delights at the Fulton Wurst Haus & Butchery (formerly Central Missouri Meat & Sausage Company). Owners, Mike and Lynette Sloan, will be hands-on operators, offering fabulous, expertly selected meats and sausages, with a full line of classes will be added soon.
