THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR, CALLAWAY STYLE!
It’s finally here — the most magical time of year, and in Callaway County, we celebrate it in true local style. Holiday festivities come in every shape and size, and with so many unique traditions across our communities, there’s something for every taste. From crafts to carriage rides, light displays to live performances — the season is full of ways to make memories. And this year, it all begins with something especially fun for fans of mystery and mischief.
On November 6, kick off the holidays at Canterbury Hill Winery & Restaurant in Holts Summit with Tuscan Chicken Pasta and a theatrical twist during their murder mystery dinner, “The Grapes of Death.” These events often sell out, so be sure to get tickets early.

From there, the season of shopping launches into full gear. The Holiday Open House in the Brick District, November 7 & 8, is a perfect starting point — with festive window displays, carriage rides, and visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus Friday from 4–7 p.m. On Saturday from 10 a.m.–2 p.m., the beloved Cocoa Crawl returns with shopping specials and more seasonal surprises. Stop by the Callaway Tourism booth to pick up your FREE Cocoa Crawl mug and enter to win our Cozy Cocoa Bundle.
Holiday markets continue on November 8 with the 50th Annual Craft & Treasure Festival at VFW Post 2657 in Fulton (8:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.), featuring arts, crafts, jewelry, food, accessories — and the ever-popular Schermer Pecans. That same day, the Missouri School for the Deaf Parent Organization hosts its fourth annual holiday bazaar from 10 a.m.–5 p.m. in the Harrison Gym — a great stop for unique, local gift finds.
Then, set aside time November 28–30 for the SHUCO Farms Christmas Market on Highway C, offering fresh-cut trees, food and drinks, gift items, holiday décor, a Santa meet-and-greet, and a DIY photo station (reservations required). Hours are Friday and Saturday 9 a.m.–dark, and Sunday noon–4 p.m.
Also that weekend, experience an authentic European-style atmosphere at the 5th Annual Christmas Market at the Fulton Depot, open November 28–29 and December 6 from 10 a.m.–7 p.m. Enjoy wine, spirits, food, local goods, outdoor dining spaces, a roasting pit for s’mores, and warm fire pits to stave off the cold. The opening weekend features performances by the Fulton High School Jazz Band and Cantorum, while December 6 brings a full craft vendor showcase featuring makers from across central Missouri.
For all the fun, all the tradition, and all the joy of the holidays — “yule” love the Callaway.
